Albania's flag, adopted in 1993, consists of a red background emblazoned with a large black silhouette of the national crest - a two headed eagle ‚¬Å“ charged directly at the center. Inspired by an Albanian folk tale, the eagle watches over and guides the king or the "son of the eagle."
