Adopted in 1958, Madagascar's flag is made up of two equally sized horizontal stripes dividing the banner in half ‚¬Å“ red on the top, and green on the bottom. At the left hand side of the flag is a vertical white stripe ‚¬Å“ the width of which is equal to that of the red and green horizontal stripes.
