The flag in general use in Texas during the campaign against the Mexicans, especially by the faction of Texans who were known as the Conservatives, was the flag of 1824. In fact, a majority of Texans during the period looked upon it as Texas's official flag in 1835 and 1836. Many also believe this flag was among those in the Alamo when it fell.
